Kofta is a traditional Middle Eastern meat dish that you can prepare in many different ways. It is delicious with wraps, but also goes well with rice. Try this tomato sauce and rice recipe; a super tasty combination! The kofta is made from minced beef or lamb.

Cook the rice

Cook rice according to the instructions on pack. Meanwhile, mix the MEZEAST Kofta Seasoning Mix Sachet with 500g of lean minced meat.

Divide into kofta

Roll the minced meat or lamb into oval pieces (about 12 pieces).

Fry the kofta

Heat a layer of oil in a non-stick pan and fry the kofta in it until it is cooked and brown on all sides.

Make the tomato sauce

Fry the chopped onion in a separate pan and wait until the onion is translucent. Add the tomato passata and s50ml water to the onion and bring to a boil over low heat (about 5 minutes). Add the baked kofta to the tomato sauce and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
